Who We Are

Rogue Retreat serves homeless and unsheltered people in Southern Oregon.

We meet people experiencing homelessness where they are, stabilize them with shelter and housing first, and then provide the supportive services they need to transition back into the community. Our operations encompass a full spectrum of innovative, creative, and temporary housing solutions, combined with supportive services to help people restore their lives.

Our Mission

To create opportunities for those experiencing homelessness to have hope.

Our Vision

We envision a community where all homeless people have a place to call home, and are empowered to strengthen the quality of their lives.

Our Story

A Focus On Addiction

Rogue Retreat began its mission in 1998 to restore lives by operating addiction recovery houses. In 2006, we refocused our efforts and expanded our scope to serve those experiencing homelessness, many of whom suffer from mental health challenges or struggle with addiction.

The New Model: Housing Plus Supportive Services

The unique model of success we’ve developed over the years stabilizes our participants first with housing. However, we’ve learned that housing is not enough to help homeless and unsheltered people establish personal agency and self-sufficiency. For this reason, we partner with over 64 community agencies that provide services needed by our program participants to transition into stable, long-term housing.

Aiming Toward Healthy Self-Sufficiency

Our own supportive services staff, along with community partners, wrap around our program participants to meet their complex and varied basic needs, as well as support their mental health, financial, legal, social, medical, and employment needs. These supportive services, known as our Secret Sauce, help participants build skills, gain knowledge, and access services that help build self-sufficiency and healthy interdependence within the communities where we all live.

Thank You to Our Community Partners!

We could not do this work without our community partners. Because of you, we have the capacity to serve over 500 participants every night. Together, we make a difference in housing and shelter, education, employment, medical care, substance abuse treatment, and more.

Wrap-around services include shelter, food, clothing, job readiness, addiction services, medical, mental health counseling, legal support, financial support, and more.

The Secret Sauce

From transitional campgrounds to multi-family apartment complexes, Rogue Retreat provides shelter and housing in addition to comprehensive wrap-around supportive services. Our “Secret Sauce” is a multi-faceted supportive network of community partners who collaborate with Rogue Retreat’s supportive services staff to serve the needs of participants when, where, and how they need it.

Our Secret Sauce is also our staff, many of whom come from an addictions background. Some might call it “lived experience,” and we’ve seen that it makes a difference in our programs. Why? Because it’s hard to say you’ve walked a mile in someone’s shoes unless you truly have. Many of our staff believe in our mission in ways others might not be able to — because they’ve lived it and made their own journeys back into the community.

“Being a recovering addict allows me to share my story and show them that there is a better way to live. I love my job. I love Rogue Retreat, and I am blessed that they helped save my life.”

– Donnie, Rogue Retreat Guest Host
