Note from the Director

Dear Friends of Rogue Retreat,

The amazing work that the Supportive Service’s team conducts is very broad. No participant has the same needs. Some people just need to be heard. They need to tell their story. Some participants need a plethora of community partner resources and connections. It is our job to assist with navigating the needs and resources.

The goal of the Supportive Services Team is to assist our participants in moving from surviving to thriving. Connection and support are what allows our team to do an outstanding job in serving our individuals and families.

The Supportive Services team consists of 15 Case Manager’s and 7 Peer Supports. The Peers and Case Managers are Certified Traditional Health Workers (THWs). This means that we all have lived experiences, like our participants, which allows us to make a connection with people and help them determine their own goals and path to a better life.

We rely on strong connections with community partners to support the success of those we serve. For behavioral health needs, we work closely with Options, Columbia Care, and Jackson County Mental Health; La Clinica and other medical providers assist with primary care, while The ARC and On-Track collaborate with our Case Managers to address addiction services.

Rogue Retreat also partners with Asante, Providence, and local CCOs like JCC and AllCare to provide Medical Respite for the community. This partnership has been highly effective in reducing hospital stays and preventing return visits, freeing up critical space in our hospitals.

The Supportive Services team has recently refined our approach to prioritize connecting participants with the programs and services that go beyond shelter. Housing serves as a tool to stabilize participants and provides access to employment, training, and recovery tools to help them take steps out of homelessness and out of crisis.

Our process emphasizes incremental progress, with milestones collaboratively set between participants and case managers. These milestones are personalized and may include tasks like obtaining identification, applying for housing, engaging in behavioral health services, or pursuing employment opportunities. Case management is central to evaluating progress and identifying potential barriers, which are addressed through a trauma-aware lens.

Because we are always learning, regular evaluations ensure the process remains supportive and goal-oriented, a collaboration between managers and our participants. By focusing on connection and growth, we aim to provide every participant with the opportunity to create a foundation for lasting success.

Thank You for Supporting Rogue Retreat and the invaluable work our agency provides.

Warm Regards,

Paul Sequeira – Supportive Services Director
