Meet Michelle White, an intern at Hopeful Secondhand and a guest at the Kelly Shelter, whose journey is one of strength and second chances. After a lifetime of seizures, a serious fall left her homeless with a traumatic brain injury. After recovery, she turned to drugs to cope and spent years battling addiction and heart failure.
This October, Michelle celebrated nine months clean and has a new purpose through Rogue Retreat. After completing a Hope Kitchen internship, she joined the Hopeful Secondhand team, where she greets every customer with gratitude and hope. “I want to be a better mom and be clean for my kids,” she says. “It’s never too late to ask for help.”
