Rogue Retreat’s Street Outreach team meets people where they are – literally. Led by Shane and James, they go out every day of the week to meet the homeless population around Medford and give them a chance to begin a new journey. They also regularly partner with the Medford Police Livability Team, Options outreach, the OHSU Street Nurses, and more organizations on these outreach outings.
Our Street Outreach team has 30 beds that they place directly into at the Kelly Shelter (20) and Crossings (10). This team works with their guests to set goals for a 60-day transition plan, and they often have guests join workforce development programs or go to detox or treatment within those first 60 days.
People invited into the shelter through Street Outreach have a 10% higher chance of gaining stability through shelter, housing, and recovery programs; with 80% of Outreach guests gaining workforce skills through internships and employment opportunities.
