A Letter from Our Supportive Services Director

As Director of Social Supportive Services at Rogue Retreat, I am proud to reflect on a year of growth, learning, and progress within our team. Our staff remain deeply committed to strengthening their skills so we can provide the best possible support to the individuals we serve in our community every day.

Over the past year, our team has participated in several important trainings, including ASSIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) and Mental Health First Aid. The team also attended the two-day Peermageddon event, which created opportunities to connect with peers across our region while learning from experts through micro trainings, and gathering and sharing resources. These experiences equip our case managers and peer support specialists with valuable tools to respond effectively and compassionately to the needs of our participants. This spring, we are excited to incorporate Restorative Justice practices to further strengthen how we support individuals as they work through challenges and move forward.

We have also implemented the Relias training platform, which allows our Traditional Health Workers to easily access continuing education units while providing our entire agency with high-quality training opportunities at the click of a button. This long-awaited addition makes it easier than ever for our staff to continue developing their knowledge and skills.

Our dedication to professional development is showing excellent results. Program completion rates increased from 31% in 2024 to 48% in 2025, reflecting the compassion, persistence, and growth of our staff.

Looking ahead to the coming year and spring season, we are excited to continue expanding our programs and serving more members of our community. As our services grow, we will also expand our Supportive Services team to ensure participants receive the care and guidance they deserve.

Thank you for supporting the incredible work of our Supportive Services team and the mission of Rogue Retreat.

Warm Regards,

Paul Sequeira

Supportive Services Director
